These rules exist to keep The Anchor stable, fair, and welcoming over the long term.

By playing here, you agree to follow both the spirit and the letter of these rules. Claiming ignorance of the rules does not exempt you from them.

Punishments are applied progressively in most cases, though severe violations may skip steps at Staff Discretion.

1 • Respect

The Anchor is here to provide a stable and welcoming environment for everyone. All players are expected to treat others with basic respect and decency.

Harassment, hate speech, slurs, threats, or targeted toxicity are not tolerated, even if stated jokingly. This includes language or behavior directed at any individual or group.

Light-hearted joking is fine, but if behavior causes discomfort, conflict, or harm, staff may intervene. Attempts to provoke drama or escalate conflicts are not welcome.

The Anchor is not a place for discussion of real-world politics, religion, or current world events. These topics consistently cause conflict and detract from the long-term health of the server.

2 • Griefing, Stealing, and PvP

You may not steal from, destroy, modify, or interfere with any blocks, items, builds, farms, or terrain owned by another player without their explicit permission. This includes naturally generated terrain that has clearly been incorporated into someone’s area.

PvP is consensual only. Even if PvP is enabled, you do not have permission to attack another player unless they clearly agree. Spawn trapping, repeated killing, or indirect harm (such as traps or contraptions meant to kill players) is strictly prohibited.

Pranking is only allowed if all involved players are clearly okay with it. If staff receive a report, the prank will be treated as griefing regardless of intent.

Rollbacks & Claims

Areas that are griefed or modified while the owner had the ability to protect or claim them may not always be rolled back. Punishment and removal of gained items will still occur. Rollback decisions are made at staff discretion based on the situation.

3 • Cheating and Unfair Advantages

Using hacked clients, X-ray mods, X-ray texture packs, exploits, automation, or any tools that give an unfair advantage over other players is strictly prohibited.

This includes:

~ Seed cracking or using external tools to calculate or reveal the world seed

~ Exploiting bugs or glitches for personal gain

~ Auto-clickers or any form of automated input

~ Mods or resource packs that reveal ores or structures through blocks or fog

Every action must be performed manually by the player. If staff believe a player may be cheating, they may contact them in-game and expect a response.

~ Render Distance Mods (e.g., Distant Horizons)

~ Litematica - for schematic purposes only

~ Item and Recipe Viewers (JEI / REI)

~ Mini-Maps (excluding cave or X-ray style views)

~ Fullbright / Dynamic Lighting

~ Inventory Sorting Mods

~ Legacy Freecam

~ Zoom Mods

If you are unsure whether a mod is allowed, ask before using it.

4 • Exploits and Duplication

An exploit is the use of a bug, glitch, or unintended game or plugin behavior to gain an advantage.

Exploiting is not allowed under any circumstances. Staff reserve the right to determine what constitutes an exploit.

Item duplication is strictly prohibited except for the listed exceptions below. Duplication outside of these exceptions is considered a major violation and may result in severe punishment, including permanent bans.

Chunk loaders are not allowed, as they negatively impact server performance.

Circumventing the server’s AFK system in any way is considered an exploit.

Exceptions (the following are allowed)

~ TNT Duplication for perimeters, Tree Farms, and similar large-scale projects

~ Duplication of Carpets, Rails, and Tripwire Hooks

5 • Farm and Redstone Guidelines

The Anchor aims to support a wide range of playstyles while maintaining server performance.

Farms of all kinds are allowed, but they must be built responsibly and optimized to avoid excessive lag. Players are expected to open a ticket with staff before or shortly after building farms that exceed the following limits within a 10-chunk view distance:

~ More than 200 combined hoppers, furnaces, droppers, or dispensers

~ High Block-Update Farms (e.g., moss, flower, cobblestone farms)

~ More than 36 vehicle entities (minecarts, boats)

~ More than 24 mobs or animals ~ Repeating Redstone Clocks

~ Nether Portals inside farms

If a farm exceeds these limits without notifying staff, players may be asked to reduce or optimize it. In rare cases, farms may be disabled or removed — never without contacting the owner first.

Players are encouraged to optimize builds using methods such as hopper locking, water or ice item transport, and preventing excessive item or entity buildup. Additional technical guidelines may be accessed in-game via /technical.

6 • Alternate Accounts

As of this time, Alt Accounts are not allowed on The Anchor.

7 • Chance-Based Games

Casinos and other chance-based games are allowed. The odds of any game must be clearly visible and understandable to all participants.

Final Notes

Staff discretion exists to keep The Anchor fair and stable, not to surprise players. Most issues are handled progressively, but serious violations may result in immediate removal.

The Anchor is built for permanence and returning players, hence our motto. If you play fair, respect others, and treat the world as something shared — you’ll fit right in.
